About the Role

The Security team drives Web2 and Web3 security for all of Sky Mavis games and digital assets, including the Ronin blockchain network, Ronin wallet, and more. With experience spanning many blockchain startups as well as recognized companies (Coinbase, Circle, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Amazon, etc), the security team is building strong security policies and SDLC processes internally.

The Security Operations (SecOps) Engineer is responsible for integrating security best practices into IT operations to protect systems, networks, and data from threats. Your primary role is to ensure the security of the cloud infrastructure by designing and implementing security controls. You will monitor the cloud infrastructure and respond to security incidents. You will regularly evaluate our overall security strategies and defenses.

This role is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

What You’ll Do

• Security Infrastructure: Design, implement, and manage security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.

• DevSecOps Integration: Integrate security practices into the DevOps (CI/CD) pipeline to automate security tasks.

• Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor systems for threats and develop incident response plans. Identify and analyze vulnerabilities in systems and coordinate remediation efforts. Perform regular security assessments of infrastructure and applications, recommending and implementing improvements.

• Evaluate new technology: Identify and evaluate new security technologies/tools to adopt internally to continuously improve Sky Mavis’ security infrastructure.

• Drive impact: Identify security gaps and drive positive change to improve Sky Mavis’ security posture.

• Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with the engineering team to identify security gaps. Works well with others and is highly responsive.

What We Look For

• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.

• Experience: 2+ years in software engineering. Experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and security technologies (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security).

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages for automation (Python, Terraform, Ansible).

• Skills/Knowledge: Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.

• Attitude: Bias for action, driven to learn, top talent.

• Strong communicator and active listener: Clear communication (English) and capable of building trust across diverse teams.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve security issues.

• Bonus: Gamer, active crypto user, does hackathons on weekends.
