Role Overview
The PreP Production Supervisor is responsible for providing direction and oversight for all shift functions through hands-on support of operations in accordance with all applicable procedures and regulations. All hourly Equipment Operators working in the organization will report directly to the Production Supervisor. This role will often lead equipment troubleshooting activities within the plant and will work with maintenance and other roles as necessary to maintain safe and reliable operations.
This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the production floor with both continual monitoring of the process via control systems analysis and field activities and observations. They will also be responsible for ensuring members of all shifts understand and complete additional daily tasks as needed and prioritize their work, as necessary. The Production Supervisor maintains an understanding of current equipment technology and will train and learn any new technologies that are implemented. This role will report to the Site Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
· Supervise hourly Equipment Operators, including scheduling, time approval, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions.
· Lead by example to promote a strong safety culture; ensure OSHA/EHS compliance and adherence
· Provide hands-on leadership in plant operations, including monitoring processes, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, responding to upsets, and supporting minor maintenance and initial emergency response.
· Serve as first-line operational support and process lead for troubleshooting plant issues.
· Collaborate with maintenance to support turnarounds and ongoing equipment reliability improvements.
· Develop and adjust production plans to meet production and technical objectives.
· Monitor and improve process efficiency, output, and safety through observations, measurements, and data collection.
· Train, instruct, and support Equipment Operators to ensure successful task execution and shift function
· Recommend process, method, material, and layout improvements based on hands-on operational experience.
· Communicate technical issues and operational status to plant leadership.
· Complete required production, safety, and regulatory documentation.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
· Associate’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, industrial technology, or a related field.
5+ years of manufacturing experience, including shift lead or supervisory experience.
· Demonstrated commitment to safety with working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams and interact effectively with plant leadership.
· Solid math, reading, writing, and verbal skills.
· Computer proficiency, including office and spreadsheet applications.
· Working knowledge of skilled trades (e.g., welding, plumbing, electrical).
· Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, 5S).
· Willingness and ability to work extra hours and on weekends if necessary.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical.
Nice to Haves
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
· 10+ years of combined manufacturing and recycling experience.
· Recycling operations experience.
· OSHA/PSM experience.
· Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Startup or greenfield facility experience.
