**This is a temporary part-time position that will be handled through a local employment agency. Anticipated hours per week are 20 or less.** We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Laboratory Operations Assistant to provide essential support for daily laboratory operations. This position will support activities in the Durham Research Center, providing hands-on support for inventory management, sample receiving and shipping, sample preparation, coordinating site visitors, ensure compliance with EHS requirements, and assisting in ordering.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

· Follow all laboratory safety guidelines and assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant workspace.

· Manage lab sample inventory

· Provide oversight into shipping and receiving samples

· Assist with coordinating needs for site visitors and managing visitor schedules

· Prepare samples according to established protocols; ensure proper labeling, and documentation

· Monitor laboratory consumables; place and track orders to maintain adequate stock.

· Assisting with manual data entry

· Other administrative duties as requested

Basic Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to prioritize and manage several work assignments throughout the day

· Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar productivity tools.

· Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous lab or production experience

· Experience handling logistics (shipping/receiving) and/or lab materials preferred.

Work Environment This role is based in an active laboratory setting and requires adherence to safety protocols, handling of laboratory materials, and occasional lifting or moving of supplies.
