The Strategic Communications Specialist is a key member of our communications team, responsible for creating compelling content and executing strategic communication initiatives that engage internal and external audiences. This role requires a self-starter who is eager to learn, highly skilled in PowerPoint, and possesses strong storytelling and writing abilities.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can take projects from concept to execution, and is comfortable collaborating across departments. They will support internal and external communication efforts, including presentations, messaging, executive communications, and event coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Development: Create and refine messaging, presentations, talking points, memos, and other communication materials that support leadership, strategic initiatives, and business objectives.
- PowerPoint Expert: Design and develop high-impact presentations that effectively communicate complex information in a visually compelling manner.
- Internal Communications: Support internal engagement through e-newsletters, intranet updates, company-wide announcements, and leadership messaging.
- Event Communications: Assist in planning, messaging, and execution of company events such as town halls, leadership meetings, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with leadership, HR, marketing, and operations teams to align communication strategies with company goals.
- Project & Program Management: Take ownership of communication projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic priorities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
- Exceptional PowerPoint skills with the ability to create visually compelling presentations.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and adherence to AP Style.
- Proactive and self-motivated, able to take projects from concept to completion with minimal direction.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships across the organization.
- Experience with internal communication platforms, intranets, and digital content management is a plus.
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus but not required.
