Senior Accountant
Overall Purpose:
Reporting to the VP of Accounting, the Senior Accountant helps oversee all general ledger activities in preparation for a timely and successful month-end, quarter-end, year-end financial statement close process. This includes heavy participation in supporting the Accounting & Finance Team(s) for annual audits, quarterly reviews, and implementation / maintenance of adequate Sarbanes-Oxley (404) internal controls as related to general accounting and financial reporting activities for the P3 enterprise as a whole. The Senior Accountant applies sound judgement in the application of GAAP, and mentors the Staff Accountants.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Accounting Degree (or Business / Finance).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting.
- Healthcare background is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience of heavy year-end audit involvement.
- CPA certification is a plus, but not required.
- NetSuite / Blackline preferred.
- Thorough working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as applicable to PP&E, prepaid expenses, and lease accounting.
- Candidates with prior public accounting / auditing experience will be given preference.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

- Ability to work with all levels of Senior Leadership and Executive Management.
- Must be motivated and be able to articulate themselves verbally and in writing.
Essential Functions:
- Review, prepare, and maintain various balance sheet reconciliations and rollforwards.
- Maintain up-to-date accounting / SOX-ready process narratives for all assigned areas of the accounting cycle.
- Maintain account analyses as related to compensation, headcount and related fringe benefits (by legal entity, by department and by location).
- Serve as a backup for the Accounting Manager and the Staff Accountant.
- Assure all general expense line items are coded (charged) to proper accounts, departments, legal entities, etc.
- Prepare journal entry audit trail reports, flag entries prepared / entered and posted by the same user and provide adequate support for review and sign-off by an independent / senior-level manager.
- Prepare and / or review monthly P&L account analyses to support fluxes (for quarterly reviews and annual audits); and prepare monthly updates to support non-GAAP measures for adjusted EBITDA disclosures.
- Manage the enterprise-wide fixed assets program, its related policy, and process narrative (including attestations for internally developed software and impairment testing).
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for a large number of bank accounts.
- Account for real estate and equipment leases under ASC 842, including monthly entries, reconciliations, and reports. Maintain copies of all lease documents on the shared drive.
- Assists in coordinating the audit process and monthly close calendar.
- Other Accounting projects as assigned.
