Australia is going to the Moon!
The ELO2 consortium is looking for a machinist; CAM programmer/CNC machine operator to assist with the manufacturing of Australia’s potentially first lunar rover. The successful applicant will have the relevant skills and experience to work with engineers through manufacturing processes to successfully program and machine components for multiple versions of the rover for design evaluation studies. The applicant will work regularly with a mechanical engineering team to ensure manufacturability of the designs. They will be based at an Australian leading digital manufacturing facility in Melbourne CBD.
- Experience with Okuma and Haas CNCs, as well as Esprit CAM is highly sought.
- Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S legislation with knowledge of other field or industry regulations
or standards related to the field within the scope of the service area.
- Fitting and Machining/CNC trades certificate or higher and extensive experience and specialist expertise in a CNC Manufacturing Environment.
The employment agreement is not directly with Lunar Outpost Oceania, but will be with one of the ELO2 Consortium members, and interfacing frequently with Lunar Outpost Oceania. This position is on a fixed duration (9 month) contract basis, with the potential for contract extension up to 3 years.
