Roles & Responsibilities

Tasks may involve but are not limited to:

  • Proposing and implementing product improvements;
  • Proposing and supporting the development of automated test and manufacturing fixtures; and
  • Proposing and implementing production line modifications to improve throughput, reduce fallout, and improve efficiency.

The intern will also be responsible for:

  • Interfacing directly with our operations, R&D and commercial teams
  • Helping to run our suite of 3D printers
  • Presenting their work in recurring meetings and at the end of their internship

Skills/Experience

  • Prior product development experience or prior related mechanical engineering internship/work experience preferred, especially experience in computer aided design, simulation, fluid dynamics, and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication and organizational skills required
  • Overall proficiency with a leading CAD package and a basic understanding of DFM as it pertains to 3D printing, machining, and injection molding (sheetmetal a plus)
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment

Education Requirements

Current student in ME or related discipline (biomedical, PDE, IE, etc.)
Must have finished Junior year; senior or graduate student preferred
