The Role:

As a Student Engineer (Part-Time), you will have the chance to apply your academic knowledge in a hands-on, real-world setting while collaborating with the Industrial Test Engineering team. In this role, you will gain exposure to industry-standard quality tools, assist in developing and driving performance dashboards, and participate in exciting hardware testing and system design projects. You will take on responsibilities that align with your current level of education and experience, enabling you to contribute meaningfully to the team. This position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling available across any combination of days, Monday through Friday, to accommodate your academic commitments. Additionally, there’s a fantastic opportunity to convert to a full-time position upon graduation, allowing you to launch your career with us!

What you’ll do:

  • Assisting the Industrial Test Engineering team by overseeing reliability tests conducted on various sub-systems/systems
  • Supporting product performance analysis, compiling data for investigation
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of performance dashboards
  • Generating and reviewing reliability block diagrams and various failure mode documentations

Who you are:

  • A senior pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, enabling data-driven decision-making and thorough evaluation of complex data sets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams) for effective reporting, presentations, and communication.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, showing initiative and resilience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration and information sharing with diverse teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail combined with exceptional organizational skills for efficient task management.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing situations and environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Even better if you have:

  • Familiarity with programming languages and tools such as SQL, Python, and Tableau for data analysis and visualization.
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Reliability concepts, contributing to data-driven insights.
  • Understanding of analytical techniques including Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Cause-Effect Diagrams to enhance problem-solving capabilities.

Compensation:

The estimated hourly rate range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, though a candidate's hourly rate shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience.
