Corporate Systems Administrator II

Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Systems, the Corporate Systems Administrator II will support the objectives of the GHX Corporate Systems function with focus on the Atlassian (Jira and Confluence). manages and configures Atlassian Jira software for project management and issue tracking, involving tasks like setting up workflows, managing users and permissions, customizing fields, troubleshooting issues, and integrating Jira with other tools to align with business processes and improve productivity. They serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the platform, requiring strong technical skills, communication abilities, and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies to support project teams effectively.

The position will be responsible for managing assigned Corporate Systems Service Desk tickets to an established SLA for timely response and resolution and be held to following change management controls, processes, and directives. This position may be required to assist in special projects respective to continued enhancement and adoption of the Atlassian products.

Essential Duties

  • Platform Configuration & Customization - Set up, customize, and maintain projects, workflows, fields, screens, and issue types to fit specific team needs.
  • Data Modeling: Define and maintain efficient Data Models to facilitate logical organization of data and user experience.
  • User Management - Manage user access, create and manage user groups, and set permissions for different projects and Confluence spaces to ensure security and compliance.
  • System Administration - Monitor the overall health of the Jira instance, perform regular maintenance, backups, and apply necessary updates and patches.
  • Troubleshooting & Support - Diagnose and resolve technical issues, provide support to users and help teams maximize the software's capabilities.
  • Integrations – Coordinate with technical resources to Integrate Jira with other tools to create a seamless and efficient workflow.
  • Reporting & Dashboards - Create and maintain reports and dashboards to provide insights into project progress and team productivity.
  • Process Improvement - Recommend and implement service and process improvements within the Atlassian ecosystem. Collaborate with teams to design efficient workflows and reporting dashboards Implement automation rules and custom scripts to streamline processes.
  • Corporate Systems Change Management – adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures, processes, and directives.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical Skills
    • Deep knowledge of Jira configuration, workflow design, JQL scripting, and common scripting languages.
    • 2 – 4 years hands-on experience as a Atlassian (Jira and Confluence) administrator.
    • 2 – 4 years hand-on experience is a support organization or similar capacity.
    • Strong understanding of Jira workflows, permission schemes, and issue types.
    • Experience with Atlassian Marketplace apps such as Script Runner, Zephyr Essential, Multiple Filters and Gadgets, Automation for Jira, and easyBI.
    • Basic understanding of the business processes and use cases that directly impact Jira and Confluence adoption and configuration.
    • Possess reasonable technical acumen to allow learning/working in a basic technical capacity with all systems within the Corporate Systems eco-system.
    • Capable of assisting with various Project Management activities and tasks assigned.
    • Familiarity with all aspects of systems and software development life cycle/change management.
  • Problem-Solving
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot complex issues and adapt the system to evolving needs and be self-sufficient.
    • Task oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Independent workers who can derive solutions on their own and seek advisement when necessary.
    • Ability to learn System Administration in other systems to provide business support and internal support to Corporate Systems team.
    • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to a dynamic business environment.
  • Communication
    • Stonge interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbal and written).
  • Stewardship
    • Oversee add-ons, plugins, and other integrations to ensure they are secure, compatible, and performing optimally.
    • Coordinate the delivery of system services and infrastructure within the organization.
    • Ability to keep highly sensitive information confidential.
  • Certifications
    • Jira Administration for Cloud

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with at least one full-cycle Jira migration to Cloud
  • Experience with Bitbucket, Bamboo or GitHub
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and integration tools such as Workato
