Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Technician role based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and fully operational workspace for clients and team members. Responsibilities include responding to maintenance requests, troubleshooting mechanical and minor electrical issues, and completing repairs on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building components. The role also involves coordinating with vendors as needed, maintaining accurate maintenance logs, monitoring supplies and tools, and supporting occasional setup or breakdown for events and workspace reconfigurations. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with the local property and operations teams to prioritize tasks, minimize downtime, and uphold Expansive’s quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance for building systems and workspace environments.
  • Experience with Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance to identify issues early and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Proficiency in general Maintenance & Repair, including basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, manuals, and safety procedures, with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Comfort working on-site with minimal supervision and collaborating with property management, vendors, and clients.
  • Previous experience in commercial property, facilities, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical training or certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, facilities management) are a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, use ladders and tools safely, and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
