Dentologie is seeking a Payroll and Benefit Specialist (hybrid role, seated at our River North HQ in Chicago, IL).

The ideal candidate would be a seasoned Payroll and Benefit Specialist (at least 3 years of experience) with a can-do attitude and compassion for people! The ideal candidate will have been through payroll audits and not be afraid of the terms FUTA, SUTA, Workers Comp IDES or ILDOR.

You will assist with the management and processing of two bi-weekly payrolls and one monthly payroll time clock processes across 17 locations (over two states): reconciliation of employee benefit policies; and payroll compliance activities of the company via Paycom. You will be in charge of finalizing our monthly commission and bonus calculations. Outside of payroll, you will oversee our business insurance policies and attend to claims and renewals and be involved in our month-end revenue reporting.

This role will report to the Controller.

Must Have Requirements:
  • Minimum of an associate's degree (bachelors preferred) in Business or in an Accounting related field.
  • Success in a payroll operations role with at least 3+ years of experience.
  • Excel knowledge in using Data Tables and Pivot Table tools.
  • Experience with payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employee roles
  • Experience with IDES, unemployment claims and workers comp claims
  • Experience managing payroll aspects of 401K and Roth accounts
  • Experience with multi-state payrolls and remote workforces
  • Experience managing flexible benefit plans including commuter, HSA and FSA
Strongly Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation policies and audits
  • Proficiency in PAYCOM or other complex payroll/HRIS systems
  • Ability to register, prepare and process documents for state income withholding tax and unemployment divisions.
  • Knowledge of benefit enrollments and exchange of data with payroll systems
  • Sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Natural desire to help / champion for employees
  • Eager to learn, collaborative, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to be onsite 3-5 days per week in our corporate office in River North
