The Role We Want You For
Clayco is seeking a seasoned and professional Executive Protection Manager to support the safety and security of senior executives and designated protectees.
This role is designed for an experienced security professional who can operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and execute protective operations with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate will bring operational maturity, discretion, and the ability to function confidently in dynamic and travel-intensive environments.
In addition to executive protection responsibilities, this position will provide periodic support to the OPSCO Physical Security Office to strengthen enterprise-wide security initiatives. This position reports to the OPSCO Physical Security Manager and is based at Clayco Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Regular domestic travel is required.
The Specifics of the Role
- Execute close protection operations for designated executives in domestic and occasional international environments.
- Conduct advance planning including site surveys, route assessments, venue evaluations, and contingency development.
- Provide secure and defensive driving services.
- Monitor evolving risk conditions and adjust security posture appropriately.
- Coordinate executive travel logistics, secure transportation arrangements, and venue security integration.
- Liaise professionally with local law enforcement and security representatives when necessary.
- Respond decisively and appropriately to medical, safety, or security incidents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and executive-level discretion at all times.
- When not actively engaged in protective operations, the incumbent will support the OPSCO Physical Security Office by:
- Assisting with facility risk and threat assessments.
- Supporting access control systems administration and credentialing processes.
- Participating in surveillance and intrusion detection system oversight.
- Assisting with vendor coordination and security integration initiatives.
- Supporting review and refinement of physical security policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of progressive operational security, law enforcement, military, or executive protection experience.
- Strong preference for experience in Federal Law Enforcement, SWAT, Special Operations Forces, or established executive protection programs.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and make sound decisions in dynamic environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Missouri concealed carry credentials and other applicable licensing.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel frequently.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare risk assessments and operational plans.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
- HR218 / LEOSA qualification.
- Completion of recognized Executive Protection or Defensive/Evasive Driving training.
- Experience operating within a corporate or enterprise security environment.
- Experience in crisis response and emergency management.
