The Role We Want You For
As a Sustainability Consultant, you will support the sustainable design and construction for certification projects and leading sustainable project strategies, from concept to operations.
The Specifics of the Role
- Manage the sustainability team’s green building certification efforts including, but not limited to, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), WELL Building Standard (WELL), Fitwel, Passive House and Living Building Challenge (LBC) projects.
- Coordinate with project teams internally and externally within design and construction practices to lead sustainability meetings.
- Develop and educate team on goals, objectives, initiatives, and strategies and how to meet certification requirements, and collaborate on deliverables.
- Work with clients/owners to maintain sustainability goals and initiatives, provide progress updates, and educate on initiatives and certifications.
- Work with preconstruction team’s estimators to ensure cost effective sustainable strategies.
- Participate in industry events and thought leadership to contribute to the Clayco industry presence.
- Provide technical or administrative support for sustainability programs and issues.
- Review and revise sustainability proposals and policies.
- Develop reports or presentations to communicate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
- Create and maintain plans and related documents for sustainability projects.
- Identify and create new sustainability indicators.
- Identify and procure needed resources to implement sustainability programs for projects.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or a related field), or foreign degree equivalent.
- 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- 4 years of experience working in the AEC industry.
- 4 years of experience with green building practices and rating systems.
- 4 years of experience with public presentations and communication (to clients and community organizations).
- 3 years of experience with LEED AP with specialty.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
