The Role We Want You For

The Commissioning Engineer Intern will be based on the construction project jobsite. In this role, you will assist the Commissioning project team in commissioning activities and processes for assigned projects.

The Specifics of the Role

• Assist in the review of submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Assist in the review of commissioning plans and documentation, including testing schedules.
• Assist in completing daily commissioning activities on project site.
• Coordinate with Operations Team and Project Management team on schedule, budget, training, and issues that arise.
• Review and assist with any equipment and material deliveries with vendors and subcontractors.
• Assist with pre-commissioning and start-up inspections to confirm project is ready for commissioning activities.
• Help to coordinate Cx activities and required team/vendor required onsite days.
• Help create and schedule updates and reports on any commissioning issues in a timely manner to all necessary parties.
• Prepare for transition to client after final inspections and commissioning processes are complete.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited University.
• General knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering students strongly encouraged to apply.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
• Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work is a plus.
• Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency.
• Successful internships or Project Engineering experience on projects of at least $5 million (design-build preferred) is a plus.
• A solid adherence and understanding of the company's Safety-First philosophy and practice.
• Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to work equally well on own as well as in a team environment.
• Capable to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.

• In this role you will assist senior project management team members in managing construction projects.
• You will be expected to provide guidance and leadership.

Compensation

• Intern Hourly Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 based on expected college graduation month/year.
