ABOUT THE ROLE
The Privileging Specialist is responsible for managing the initial and reappointment process for healthcare providers, ensuring timely approval and compliance with credentialing standards. This position plays a key role in supporting clinical operations by ensuring all credentialing and privileging activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with internal and partner site policies. The Privileging Specialist will bring a strong background in hospital credentialing standards and will work closely with internal teams and partner sites to ensure providers are fully credentialed and ready to deliver care without delay.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Ensure that all initial appointment privileges are granted timely and that all reappointment privileges are maintained to avoid a lapse or expiration of privileges.
Responsible for updating the credentialing database by ensuring the privileging application status is accurately reflected.
Proactively identify issues that require additional evaluation or escalation.
Build and maintain relationships with partner sites and participate in partner site meetings.
Respond to inquiries from clinicians, facilities, and internal customers on day-to-day privileging matters.
Serve as a point of escalation for any issues identified during the privileging process and collaborate with clinicians and partner sites to document and resolve these issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
At least 3 years of experience directly related to clinical staff credentialing or managed care organization provider credentialing
Knowledge of TJC and NCQA standards
CPCS or CPMSM Certification by NAMSS preferred
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building
Ability to remain flexible, multitask and meet strict deadlines
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in using MS Office, credentialing software, and data entry systems
POSITION LOGISTICS
100% remote position
Strongly prefer someone based in Eastern Standard Time
Required to have a private office space in home or elsewhere for confidentiality

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The pay range for this role is $25 - $32 an hour. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position using current market data. The final offer will be determined based on an individual's skills, years of experience, education, capacity, licenses, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
