Engineering Lab Technician
As AI, cloud computing, streaming, and IoT applications rapidly expand, data centers are facing unprecedented thermal and power challenges. Accelsius is developing revolutionary direct-to-chip, 2-phase cooling technologies that enable next-generation performance, sustainability, and scalability for Server OEMs, Data Centers, and Edge Computing Operators.
Position Summary
The Lab Technician will play a critical role in supporting prototype development, hardware builds, and experimental testing within Accelsius’ engineering lab. This highly hands-on role requires technical curiosity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to accelerate product innovation and validation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain prototype systems and lab test setups.
- Support hardware prototyping, validation testing, and engineering experiments.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions, and test procedures.
- Assist engineers with experimental setup, data collection, documentation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Perform electromechanical assembly, including handling cooling components, sensors, instrumentation, tubing, and related hardware.
- Support fabrication, brazing, soldering, and mechanical integration activities as needed.
- Maintain lab organization, equipment calibration, inventory, and safety standards.
- Assist with rack-level system builds and integration activities during internal testing and early customer deployments.
- Identify opportunities to improve lab processes, test methodologies, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience:
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, R&D, or hardware prototyping environment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred, but equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with brazing, soldering, or related mechanical assembly techniques preferred.
- Familiarity with thermal systems, fluid handling systems, electronics troubleshooting, or instrumentation preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation.
- Experience using common lab tools, hand tools, and test equipment.
Additional Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across engineering teams.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.
- Previous startup, hardware development, or R&D lab experience is a plus.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in a lab environment for extended periods.
- Comfortable working around mechanical, electrical, and fluid-based systems while following lab safety procedures.
